Dr. Matthew Fazekas is a board-certified pediatrician with fellowship training and board certification in pediatric, adolescent and young adult sports medicine. He graduated summa cum laude from the Honors Program at the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He subsequently earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and then completed a pediatric residency at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Fazekas then completed a sports medicine fellowship through Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Fazekas has served as a consulting and team physician for the Boston Ballet, Northeastern University, Emmanuel College, and Milton Academy. He also provided event coverage for the BAA Boston Marathon in addition to other national mass sporting events.
Dr. Fazekas is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, and is a fellow member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Fazekas is originally from Atlanta, GA and lives with his wife and son in South Florida. His areas of interest include sports injuries, concussion management, and dance medicine.
