Bill Davis has been teaching at Hollywood Hills HS since 2000 and during that time has been the school’s Athletic Trainer. He joined the [U18] Sports Medicine team in July of 2017. Previously, he started and managed the Sports Medicine Program for the then North Broward Hospital District that created a partnership with the Broward Schools that served 22 public schools and Cardinal Gibbons High, working for the District from 1992-2000. He came to the District after serving as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Miami Dolphins Football Team from 19983 to 1992. He started his professional career as a Certified Athletic Trainer as the Men’s Athletic Trainer for the University of Tennessee-Martin overseeing the health care for the 8 men’s athletic teams. He also has worked with the ATP Tour, the Men’s Professional Tennis Tour, and the USTA, providing athletic training services for junior development camps at the USTA Training Center in Boca Raton. He received his AB in History from Davidson College, one of the top liberal arts colleges in the US in 1976, and his MA in Health & PE at Tennessee Tech University in 1978. He has done advance work in Education at FIU. He is board certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and Licensed in the State of Florida to provide athletic training services. He is also a CPR instructor for the Broward Schools. The 2018-2019 school year will be his 42nd year of providing athletic training services. He is married to Linda Davis, they have five children, and live in Cooper City. He is an active road biker and raises money for the Dolphins Cancer Challenge and the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
