Lucia was a multi-sport athlete high school, partaking in volleyball, basketball and softball, as well as being a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Her experience with Tae Kwon Do allowed her to travel extensively at a young age to compete and become a gold medalist in the Junior Olympics! She then went on to college where she played collegiate level volleyball. After various shoulder injuries from the sport she realized she had a desire to become a physical therapist. Lucia graduated from Florida International University with her doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011 after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. Lucia has been a part of the Memorial team since 2012 and has been promoted to the clinical ladder. She is concussion certified through the American Balance Institute.

Lucia enjoys being a clinical instructor and mentoring current and prospective students. She is passionate about staying on top of current research in order to continue to grow as a therapist. She works with both sports/orthopedic patients and pediatric neurodevelopmental patients and enjoys witnessing them reach their goals.
