Jessica Aquino has been the Head Athletic Trainer for Performing Arts and Dance Medicine through U18 Sports Medicine in the South Florida since 2015. She attained her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Nova Southeastern University in May of 2014 and is currently completing her Masters of Science in Athletic Training from Barry University (2017). After graduating from her Bachelor’s, she worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams at Florida International University. She has been working with the performing arts population in the sports medicine field since 2012, focusing primarily on the on-site treatment and rehabilitation of amateur, collegiate and professional dancers. She is certified to practice as an athletic trainer through the Board of Certification for Athletic Training (BOCATC) as well as an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida (ATAF). Additionally, she is a licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Florida as well as being certified in Fascial Movement Taping and Performing Arts Medicine within the scope of athletic training through the American College of Sports Medicine and the Performing Arts Medicine Association.
