Alexandra Avila, known to most as Alex is a physical therapist at U18 Sports Medicine. She developed an interest in physical therapy at an early age which has since grown into a passion that she cherishes. Alex studied Sports Medicine at UCF where she received her Bachelor’s degree, then went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at University of Florida. She is beyond grateful for the opportunities she has received as part of the Memorial Hospital System, where she has been promoted to the clinical ladder. Alex is an APTA Sports Certified Specialist and enjoys working with all ages but especially with young athletes. She places utmost importance on safe return to sport and injury prevention. Alex is continuously striving to be the best therapist for her patients by keeping up with current research. Alex finds opportunities to give back to the profession through community service, volunteering in Honduras, and mentoring current and prospective physical therapy students.
